Welcome to the luxury you deserve

SFBC Bike Valet

The SFBC has become justifiably famous for our free, friendly, and convenient Valet Bike Parking service. It's like a coat check for bikes — show up, hand over your bike to a cheery SFBC bike valet, and go enjoy the event — no need to worry about the safety of your bike, relax, we'll keep a close eye on it till you come back!

The SFBC provides valet bike parking at AT&T Park for all home games of the San Francisco Giants and at other city event, like the Outside Lands Festival where we parked 3,100 bikes over 3-days and at the Hardly Strictly Blue Grass Festival where we park 1,500 a day.

All major outdoor public events in San Francisco are required to provide attended bicycle parking so you don't need to worry about your bike's safety.

Valet bike parking is like a coat check for bicycles

Patrons are issued claim checks in exchange for their bikes and our staff guards them in a secure corral. In eight years of service, none have been stolen or vandalized.

Let our reputation work for you

People don't ride to events where their bikes aren't safe. Valet service ensures that even accessories will not be stolen. Cyclists appreciate the extra security and our reputation is well known. Hire us and you hire an organization trusted by thousands of San Franciscans.

Encourage safe cycling

We care about rider safety too. When we find potentially dangerous mechanical problems, we either fix them on the spot or alert the rider. And we always provide the best information about safe riding and bicyclists' responsibilities.

Keep your event tidy

Why turn your staff into bad guys when crowd issues require you to exclude bicycles? Adding bike parking allows them to be positive and friendly when directing cyclists to the parking corral. As a bonus, people who would have locked to poles and fences will seek out the corral instead.

Reduce traffic problems

Several thousand cars descending on an event means community disruption and attendees grumpy from long searches for parking. Given a little encouragement many will come by bike.

Increase attendance

Faced with the nightmare of driving in the city, many people prefer to ride to local events, but can't really enjoy themselves if they're worried about their bikes. Secure parking means more will visit and stay longer.

Complete service saves you time and money

You could run your own bike parking corral, but why bother? Our complete service means no hassles for organizers. All you need to do is mention the service in your advertising, notify your security personnel, supply us with a secure perimeter, a few police barricades and a table for our literature and donation box.

We set up, take down and run the corral. As a bonus, our service reduces your cost for car lots and staff to direct traffic.

We carry $1 million in liability and can list you as additional insured. Our base rate is about the same as what you'd have to pay just to hire staff. Discounts are available for low-budget noncommercial events.

Bike Parking now REQUIRED at certain events

To promote bicycling and reduce bicycle theft, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a new series of Bicycle regulations as of January 1,1999. In the new regulations, section 2.76 states the following requirement for all events incurring a street closure, "Monitored bicycle parking is required for events with an anticipated number of participants greater than 2000". A brief overview of the new regulations are as follows:

Secured Valet Bike Parking should.... Be provided for a minimum of 1% of all expected participants; be located within a one block radius of a regular entrance to the event. All event publicity should include information on the availability and location of the Secured Valet Bike Parking in the same format, with equal amount of space, as other transportation information. All event personnel should be aware of the Secure Valet Bike Parking location AND event maps must indicate the location as well.

For a copy of the new legislation you can contact the Department of Parking & Traffic for the City and County of San Francisco, at (415) 553-1200.
