7th Ave Bike Lanes

Make the Sunset Connection!

facilitators

Envisioning the Avenue: SFBC volunteers facilitate a workshop for 7th Avenue neighbors, together brainstorming ways to make this important corridor safer for bikes, pedestrians, and transit.

Can you imagine a Seventh Avenue that is beautiful, friendly, and safe for pedestrians and bicyclists? A dedicated group of Bicycle Coalition members in the Inner Sunset has been working to create that reality, by organizing an "Envisioning the Avenue" community design charette that was held in March 2003, inviting the public and community groups to propose specific ideas to make 7th Avenue a welcoming boulevard for pedestrians and cyclists.

brainstorm

"It is unfortunate that the Avenue is such a mess right now that most people can't begin to see how it could really be a wonderful, multi-modal street," laments Peggy da Silva, Inner Sunset resident and one of several SFBC members forming a neighborhood committee specifically to improve 7th Avenue from Portola to Golden Gate Park.

Here's a quick list of action items YOU can take to help make this important boulevard better for bikes!
