SFBC Biker Bulletin
May 30, 2006
I brought my bike in to work today, and here it's gonna stay. So
every day I can ride it. To and from the Bart station, instead of using
Muni, and to my department motor pool parking lot when I pick up the
office vehicle. I might also enjoy some riding around S.F. on my lunch

Call or Email Your Support For Assembly Bill 2444 Now
Our partners at the Transportation and Land Use Coalition (TALC) have helped craft and sponsor AB 2444, a $10 vehicle registration fee that would raise much-needed funds for air and water quality protection, bicycle and pedestrian safety measures, public transit operations, and roadway improvements throughout the Bay Area. The Assembly will vote on AB 2444 TUESDAY, May 31 -- if you're a constituent of Assemblymember Leland Yee, please call or email him TODAY to ask for his support of AB 2444 (find out if you are represented by Assemblymembers Yee at http://www.assembly.ca.gov/ and clicking on "Find My District"). Just pick up the phone and say: "Hi, I'm a constituent and would like to ask the Assemblymember to support AB 2444." (916) 319-2012, Assemblymember.firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information contact Marta at TALC: 510/740-3150 x14 or email@example.com
Got the Volunteer Bug?
The SFBC office needs your help to keep us rolling into summer! Can you lend a hand with the little work that keeps our members happy? We need folks to help with data entry, membership packets, and general office upkeep. We can use your hands for an hour or two any day or every day. Our small staff of five cannot do it without you! Interested in volunteering? Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Streetside Outreach on Market Street: Revelers Needed to Spread the Word
Liven up the streets with the city's cyclists by shouting out for the new Market Street Bike Lanes! We'll be cheering on cyclists as they roll down the latest edition to the Citywide Bike Network - those beautiful brand new lanes between Van Ness and Octavia. The outreach will be happening next week - Thursday, June 8th from 5-7pm on Market between Gough and Franklin. Can you join us to celebrate, spread the word about upcoming campaigns, and talk to bikers about the work of the SFBC? If you were a Bike to Work Day volunteer, you know how fun and rewarding outreach can be! Come out and give us a hand - email email@example.com to sign up.

Bike Mural Guided Tour: Order Your Bike Mural Photo Cards Now!
Seven years ago we produced a giant mural to celebrate our first conversion of a car street to a street reserved for bikes, peds and Muni. Finally there's a printed tour available telling all the Duboce Bikeway Mural's secrets, history and symbolism. Make a donation of any amount to support community muraling and help retire our remaining mural debts by purchasing a set of beautiful mural cards! You'll get a chance to read all about the Wiggle, the sordid history of transportation depicted, messages hidden by those crafty muralists, and all the other fun details on the backs of these cards -- and then you can hang the cards up and have your own mural at home!
