We're Making Night Riding Safer
Let there be light! This season, together with the SFMTA, the SF Bicycle Coalition installed over 1,300 lights for people riding without them in seven locations across the city. National media outlets like GOOD Magazine and Fast Company have called Light up the Night a model for other cities. We're proud to have reached over 800 people in need of lights to be safe riding at night.

Check out this super cool video of biking in the Presidio by our friends at the Exploratorium. The Exploratorium has been focusing a lot on bikes recently. Their current issue of Explore magazine, dives into the science of bicycling, and they offer some great research on everything from frame materials to aerodynamics in cycling.

Golden Gate Bridge West Side Closed for Construction
The west sidewalk of the Golden Gate Bridge will be closed again for a few months, this time to create a better, smoother new pathway approach. From January 17th to approximately April 1st (weather depending), bicycle traffic will roll on the bridge's east sidewalk around the clock, sharing the narrow right-of-way with pedestrians. Please be extra alert and courteous as you make your way across. Read more about the project.
