SFBC Biker Bulletin
April 17, 2012p>"It is easy to sit back and paint in broad strokes about issues, but that does nothing to truly advance the conversations that need to be happening...We shouldn't let this incident distort our approach to traffic laws or add fuel to the apparently endless battle of the bike and the car."
-- SF Examiner Editorial Staff, Rare Pedestrian Deaths Exploited by Bicycle Foes, San Francisco Examiner, April 11, 2012.

Check Out Our Family Biking Guide
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Family Biking Guide, a comprehensive manual for all stages of family biking -- from biking while pregnant to biking your child to school. For too long there has been little to no concrete information about family biking, and so we created this guide to help answer the myriad of questions about family biking, and to invite even more families to discover the joys of biking together.

Golden Gate Bridge Path Work Taking a Little Longer
The west sidewalk of the Golden Gate Bridge has been closed for the past couple of months to create a better, smoother new pathway approach. The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and National Park Service, leading the trail project, say that inclement weather and soil conditions have pushed the completion date back a bit, but assure us that trail work will be done and the west sidewalk will be re-opened by Bike to Work Day (May 10). Meanwhile bicycle traffic continues to roll on the bridge's east sidewalk around the clock, sharing the narrow right-of-way with pedestrians -- please be extra alert and courteous as you make your way across. For more information on the project, see our Golden Gate Bridge page.

Join Us for a Bike Tour of SF's Parklets
After almost three incredible years working with business, neighborhood, and city leaders to transform our streets into great public places, our San Francisco Great Streets Project is set to wrap up at the end of May. Expect a two to three hour ride, longer if we're having fun and the weather is nice. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you will be joining the ride!
