Ever wonder how San Francisco compares to other cities like Chicago, DC, Austin and Memphis on biking conditions? Next Thursday from 6:30-8pm the SF Bicycle Coalition is hosting a discussion with Martha Roskowski, Director of the Green Lanes Project, a nation-wide project funded by Bikes Belong to catalyze the creation of world-class bicycling facilities in 6-US Cities. Here's where you will see and hear where San Francisco is today, where we are going tomorrow, and what is happening in 5 other US Cities on improving biking conditions. Drinks and snacks provided. RSVP today.

Video: Obama Becomes First Prez to Walk Down a Bike Lane on Inauguration Day
If you watched President Obama’s inauguration last week, you might have noticed that bike lanes front and center at the big event. When President Obama got out of his motorcade, he stepped directly onto a gorgeous bi-directional bikeway running down the center of Pensylvania Avenue. In doing so, he became the first president to walk down a bikelane on Inauguration Day. We like the looks of that red carpet!
