Marina Boulevard and path have been repaved and the Department of Public Works and Supervisor Farrell want your input on striping options for this popular waterfront commuter and recreational bikeway.

SFBC Rec Ride: The Partnership Ride

The ride starts at 5:30 at Huckleberry Bicycles and ends at KASA Indian Eatery at the Soma Street Food Park. The theme? Partnerships! Feel free to dress up as a famous partnership (or half of one) and win a prize for the best costume! Ride includes a bingo style trivia game, a raffle prize, costumes, and you get to learn about some of our wonderful partnership shops! Beer, snacks, and beverages provided along the way! Traffic Skills 101-2: On-Road

Practice what you learned in the Traffic Skills 101-1. This on-bicycle class follows a comfortable progression onto city streets, beginning with a short review of the lessons from the 101-1 course. After a basic bike maintenance session, the class will practice bike maneuvering skills in a car-free practice area before riding on the streets in small, intimate groups led by instructors. You will gain experience riding alongside moving traffic in different traffic conditions, and apply the safe riding techniques practiced in the car-free space into real-life situations. Adults and anyone over 14 years of age are welcome; bicycle, helmet and preregistration required. Please bring your lunch. RSVP.

From the turn of the 20th Century through its first few decades, James and Merritt Reid designed an impressive number of San Francisco's buildings, from theaters to hotels, office towers to townhouses, bandshells to barns. With scant professional training but plenty of hustle, these Canadian brothers left their mark across the width of our city. Come discover some of their work and hear their story.

LGBTQ Urban Bicycling Workshop: Intro to Safe Biking

In honor of LGBT Pride Month, the SF Bicycle Coalition will be hosting a one-hour workshop on safe bicycling in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign . Come learn about types of bikes, the rules of the road, and how to make your bike comfortable for everyday riding, including grocery shopping. All skill levels welcome and no bike necessary. This day trip mini-fundraiser for the SF Bicycle Coalition cruises up the coast and offers a great change of scenery at a relaxed pace. Gary & Greens: Ride and Lunch Fundraiser

Pedal with mountain bike legend Gary Fisher on an exclusive fundraiser where you’ll ride and dine, supporting the SF Bicycle Coalition’s work. Mountain bike pioneer and San Francisco local, Gary Fisher, will lead a small group ride across the Golden Gate Bridge to mountain bike trails in the Marin Headlands. Then you’ll return to the city for a gourmet meal at Greens Restaurant in Fort Mason.

We’ve made this ride suitable for people newer to mountain biking but still fun for more experienced riders. This will be a 22-mile round-trip, no-drop ride and is supported with pro mechanics from City Cycles. Tickets and Details

7th Annual San Francisco Bicycle Music Festival *

The SF Bicycle Music Festival is the oldest and largest 100% bicycle-powered music festival in the world: Audience members ride bikes to produce electricity for the sound system, and the entire event – gear, equipment, personnel, and fans -- is packed up, transported, and deployed multiple times - by bike! This year's Festival will feature improved concert sound and a remote appearance by Bill McKibben.

Urban Bicycling Workshop: Traffic Skills 101-1

This introductory course is perfect for anyone who wants to be more comfortable riding. This four-hour, in-classroom course will cover the basics on how to choose the right bike and properly fit a helmet as well as tips for the safest ways to ride in traffic. You'll also learn techniques to avoid or handle street hazards and emergency maneuvers along with the best way to lock up your bike and how to use a bike in combination with public transit, and biking rights and responsibilities. This free class, funded in partnership with the SFMTA & SFCTA, is open to adults and anyone over 14 years of age; preregistration is required. Indoor bike parking provided! This is a fun and fabulous way to experience the parade firsthand, there is nothing quite like the thrill and exhilaration of riding down the center of Market Street in one of the biggest Pride celebrations in the world. You must be a current member of the SF Bicycle Coalition or the East Bay Bicycle Coalition to ride in the contingent.
