Marina Boulevard and path have been repaved and the Department of Public Works and Supervisor Farrell want your input on striping options for this popular waterfront commuter and recreational bikeway.

The ride starts at 5:30 at Huckleberry Bicycles and ends at KASA Indian Eatery at the Soma Street Food Park. The theme? Partnerships! Ride includes a bingo style trivia game, a raffle prize, costumes, and you get to learn about some of our wonderful partnership shops! Beer, snacks, and beverages provided along the way! Traffic Skills 101-2: On-Road

Practice what you learned in the Traffic Skills 101-1. This on-bicycle class follows a comfortable progression onto city streets, beginning with a short review of the lessons from the 101-1 course. After a basic bike maintenance session, the class will practice bike maneuvering skills in a car-free practice area before riding on the streets in small, intimate groups led by instructors. You will gain experience riding alongside moving traffic in different traffic conditions, and apply the safe riding techniques practiced in the car-free space into real-life situations. Adults and anyone over 14 years of age are welcome; bicycle, helmet and preregistration required. Please bring your lunch. RSVP. |

Gary & Greens: Ride and Lunch Fundraiser

Pedal with mountain bike legend Gary Fisher on an exclusive fundraiser where you’ll ride and dine, supporting the SF Bicycle Coalition’s work. Mountain bike pioneer and San Francisco local, Gary Fisher, will lead a small group ride across the Golden Gate Bridge to mountain bike trails in the Marin Headlands. Then you’ll return to the city for a gourmet meal at Greens Restaurant in Fort Mason.
We’ve made this ride suitable for people newer to mountain biking but still fun for more experienced riders. This will be a 22-mile round-trip, no-drop ride and is supported with pro mechanics from City Cycles. Tickets and Details |

Urban Bicycling Workshop: Traffic Skills 101-1

This introductory course is perfect for anyone who wants to be more comfortable riding. This four-hour, in-classroom course will cover the basics on how to choose the right bike and properly fit a helmet as well as tips for the safest ways to ride in traffic. You'll also learn techniques to avoid or handle street hazards and emergency maneuvers along with the best way to lock up your bike and how to use a bike in combination with public transit, and biking rights and responsibilities.
