The Richmond

Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park is indisputably the crown jewel of San Francisco's urban park system. Golden Gate Park's official mission is to "afford opportunities for all to experience beauty, tranquility, recreation, and relief from urban pressures." As the southern boundary of the Richmond District, Golden Gate Park is a major focus for SFBC advocacy efforts in District 1. It is also important to the livability of the entire City that Golden Gate Park provide a high quality bicycling and walking environment while limiting access to motorized vehicles that use the park as a high speed shortcut.

Cabrillo St

We did it! The Cabrillo St bike lanes, striped in 2003 at the SFBC's urging, provide a safe and continuous route through the Richmond District. They are also the longest bike lanes in the City.

Geary Bus Rapid Transit

SPUR's Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) working group and its coalition partners have launched a new website to promote and support the idea of Bus Rapid Transit on Geary Boulevard. Please take a look at the website and send the link to those you think might be interested/supportive: www.gogeary.com
