Family Biking Classes

In response to the growing number of families biking together, we are proud to offer the following Family Biking Classes:

You love to bike, and now you're pregnant. Do you need to stop biking? How long can you bike while pregnant? Is your bike pregnancy and baby-ready? Register for this (free) class to learn the medically reviewed facts about biking pregnant. Meet other pregnant women who bike. This class is great for anyone who is currently pregnant, or thinking about getting pregnant, as well as their partners and supporters.

Biking With Your Baby and Toddler
SF Bicycle Coalition Family Biking Series Part 2

You love to bike, and now you're a parent. When can you begin biking with your baby or toddler? Is it safe? What kind of seat should you get? Is your bike baby- or toddler-ready? Register for this (free) class to learn the medically reviewed facts about biking with a baby and/or toddler, as well as tips and tricks. Meet other parents who bike with their small children. This class is great for anyone who has a baby or toddler, is expecting, or thinking about having a family, as well as their partners and supporters.

Freedom From Training Wheels
SF Bicycle Coalition Family Biking Series Part 3

You love to bike, and can't wait till your child is free of the training wheels. Our instructors can help them ride on their own or go from balance bike to a bike with pedals. Go to our Freedom From Training Wheels page to find out about our next classes.

Practice Training: On-Road with Your Children
SF Bicycle Coalition Family Biking Series Part 4

You love to bike and so do your children, and want to go beyond the playground or blacktop area. How can you work together to teach them the skills to safely and skillfully complex traffic situations? We can get your family started down the road to safe and skillful biking to school or beyond. Our instructors will teach you and your children how to prepare, including practice on a car-free space and on regular city streets with biking facilities. Parents with children of all ages and children riding independently are welcome. All people under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring your own bikes and helmets. This is a great class for Cub Scouts to earn their Biking Badge. Note: If your child is not yet riding on their own go to our Freedom From Training Wheels class listed below.

All of our classes are held at locations that are wheelchair accessible. To request real time captioning, a sign language interpreter or other accommodations for a disability, please contact Marc Caswell at marc@sfbike.org 415-431-2453 x302.
