Golden Wheel 2003

Honoring Dave Snyder's work for a bike-friendly city!

Golden Wheel

Held on a blustery but beautiful evening on the first of May at the scenic top-floor of the LGBT Community Center, the 2003 Golden Wheel Awards reception was a fabulous party and an overwhelming success. Over 200 people turned out to honor Dave Snyder for his outstanding contribution, over the course of his 11-year tenure as Executive Director of the SFBC, to the creation of safer streets, a more livable city, and a more bicycle-friendly San Francisco.

Thanks to the generous support of many SFBC members and friends, this year's Golden Wheel Awards raised over $10,000 to support the Citywide Bike Network. We are grateful to our wonderful members, volunteers, the many V.I.P.'s who joined us, and San Francisco Board of Supervisors President Matt Gonzalez for being our keynote speaker. Special thanks to the following businesses and individuals for their generous support of this event: Law Offices of William Weiss, Trader Joe's, Magnolia Brewing Company, Left Coast Catering, Sugar Bowl Bakery, Joseph Schmidt, David Soward, and Chris Fenster.
