The 2005 Golden Wheel Awards recognized the vision and power of individuals who build stronger communities through bicycling. It was an inspiring evening of bicycle love, empowerment through bicycling, and community activism. Thanks to all those who helped raise over $14,000 through this fine event to support our continued work and our ability to honor people like our awardees.
Honorees included
Gillian Gillett
A motivated Mission resident who led the neighborhood campaign to win traffic calming improvements in the Mission District�s San Jose Avenue/Guerrero area.
The Bike Kitchen
Co-founded by Jesse Basbaum, Catherine Hartzell, Forrest Crawford and Josh Adler
The Bike Kitchen is a volunteer-run community bike shop. Its mission is promoting bicycling by empowering adults and youth to build and repair their own bikes.

Thanks to our many volunteers for their hard work at the event. Gratitude to the St. Julien Experience who provided us with unparalleled musical offerings which delighted.
