This year's categories & recipients include:

OUTSTANDING CHAMPION FOR CAR-FREE SPACE: Supervisor Jake McGoldrick
We commend Sup. McGoldrick for leading the charge on gaining car-free space in Golden Gate Park on Saturdays, to make sure the Park feels like a Park.
THE ADVOCATE WHO LAUNCHED A THOUSAND CYCLISTS: Bert Hill
Bert has been the SFBC's Urban Bike Education ambassador, teaching hundreds of people to safely and courteously bike around town. We are proud to honor Bert for his years of hard work and dedication to increasing the number of bicyclists on our city's streets..
EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP IN CREATING PUBLIC SPACE: Martin Building Company for Mint Plaza
It isn't everyday we can celebrate a downtown city block that's transformed into car-free public space. We hope this will be a model for other developers and city planners in creating public space that actually adds value to the community.

Jared Blumenfeld, Director of the Department of the Environment and Leah Shahum, Executive Director of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, will be this year's featured speakers.

The Golden Wheel Awards is an important mid-year fundraiser for the SFBCs work in continuing to connect the dots between bicycle advocacy and healthy living, clean air, and urban sustainability.
