| Why aren't women on wheels?
In 2002, the SFBC completed a Low-Income Women and Bicycling survey focusing on the reasons why women use bicycles as transportation at far lower rates than men. Results from this survey are helping us to build a campaign to get more women on bikes. The survey project was funded through at $10,000 research grant from the Women's Foundation and designed by David Binder Inc. Contact Leah Shahum at 415/431-BIKE x306 for more info or to be added to our email list. Initial results of the survey are available for download below.
