BIKE LANES: The Mayor’s Office and the Mission Police Station received some complaints from motorists and residents about the Valencia Street bike lanes. DPT has received many letters of support, some requesting more double parking enforcement. DPT staff and the local merchant group planned to walk Valencia in March to consider better placement of yellow curb zones and consolidating loading zones. Arguello Blvd. bike lanes/ lane removal will be submitted to the Board of Supervisors for approval. Polk Street Lane Removal/Wide Curb Lanes does not need approval from Small Business Commission and will proceed to the Board of Supervisors for approval. To Be Striped: Grove St. between Van Ness & Hyde; Polk St. between Grove and Hayes; Seventh Ave. extension to Lawton Street; Indiana St. between Cesar Chavez and Islais Creek; Folsom St. between 3rd and 4th Sts.; Seventh St. (northbound) between Bryant and Townsend Sts.

BIKE SHORTS: Railroad tracks on Marina Blvd./Buchanan St. should be paved over by end of March. Staff toured the Presidio with Presidio Trust staff and developed plans for SF Bicycle Route sign installation.

BIKE PARKING: Staff surveyed Treasure Island for bicycle parking. Racks installed at 1155 Market St. Staff surveyed and designed bike parking facility for 1570 Mission St., leased by Health Services.
