Your bike commute along two of the trickiest blocks of Market Street may get easier if the city agrees that safer biking space is worth the loss of 18 parking spots for just a few hours a day.
The proposal would replace parking with a tow-away zone on Market St. between Gough and Octavia Sts. (westbound) 4-7 pm, and between McCoppin and Valencia Sts. (eastbound) 7-9 am. The number of bicyclists between Gough and Octavia averages more than 200 per hour during the afternoon commute.
If you support this change for better biking, please attend a public hearing before the Parking & Traffic Commission Tuesday, July 6th at 1 pm at City Hall, Rm. 400.
