Volunteer Projects

Teachers Needed
Interested in bringing bicycling and alternative transportation into your classroom? Join the SFBC Teachers' Project and meet with other SFBC teachers to develop lesson plans and service learning projects that incorporate bicycling! The SFBC is teaming up with Linking SF and local schools to introduce transportation issues into curriculum at all grade levels. Call Mary at 431-BIKE, x1 for more info.

Volunteer Projects
Join the growing ranks of do-gooders by volunteering with the SFBC! Do good. Feel good. Look good. A real win, win, win situation!

Can you park your bike at work? By law, you should be able to park your bike in all private and public parking garages. Has your building complied with this new legislation? If not, call us for strategies to speed up your building's compliance.

Help research and lead a bike tour! Interesting bike tour ideas like ethnic history in SF, queer history, and women's history need that special person(s) to turn the idea into reality.

Volunteer bike mechanics are needed for monthly, free bike repair events in lower-income communities. Bilingual mechanics and mechanics of color are especially in demand.

Call Mary at 431-BIKE, x1 about any of these projects.

Special Thanks to
Jerald Lee, Seema Sharma, Georgette Stampley, Francisco Zavate, and all other valet bike parking volunteers for their great work at the X-Games last month.
