JOIN BIKEAID 2001 AND RIDE FOR A CHANGE!: Bike-Aid is an educational cross-country bicycle tour that develops participants' critical understanding of race, class, and privilege, while exploring globalization's impacts on local communities in the US and abroad. Riding from SF to DC between June 16th-August 19th, meet with grassroots organizations working for social, economic, and environmental justice, while participating in education sessions and workshops on anti-racist training and globalization issues. BAC OPENINGS: The SF Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) has 2 openings. Appointed by the Board of Supervisors, the BAC meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month at City Hall to consider bicycle projects and policies and make recommendations to the Board and DPT. Projects include implementation of the comprehensive bicycle master plan; implementation of the bike route system and map; improved transit access for bicycles; funding for bicycle improvements to increase road safety.
