Winding Up the Year Winterfestively
Hot Buttered Rum dishing up delicious sounds
The biggest bike party of the year-the SFBC's 6th annual Winterfest-drew hundreds of fun-loving folk (including 100 new members!), offered great bargains on cool stuff (including 16 bikes), and raised $25,000 for the SFBC and our work to make San Francisco the most bicycle-friendly city in the country! SFBC members enjoyed great food, drink, live music, and of course the company of hundreds of fellow bikers. (Check out the photo gallery).
This event wouldn't have been the same without Elizabeth Creely's organizing and the help of dozens of friendly and playful volunteers. Special thanks go to SOMARTS Gallery & Cultural Center for the wonderful space; Nico Martin of Deliciously Catering for the wonderful food; Tabla Rasa, Hot Buttered Rum, and Neurohumors for the fabulous music; David Jayne for great sound; Mitch Altman, our lighting guru; Ethan Derner, Joe Carroll, and Antler, the auctioneers extraordinaire; Lindsay Swain and Teri Gardiner for too much to list; and committee leaders Chris Davis and Kathleen Gacek. Thanks also to John McMahon of Extentech and Eric Litzler for creating the auction web site, and to Brian Kahrs and Brian Sobolak for keeping it updated. And finally, a big thanks to the dozens of valet bike parkers, food makers, bartenders, and volunteers of every sort!
...and THANK YOU to our fabulous sponsors!
