The Joint Powers Board, also known as Caltrain’s Board of Directors, will be holding their regular monthly meeting. The 9-person JPB consists of three officials representing each of the three counties: San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara. There has been an ongoing issue of bumps, which is when a passenger is denied boarding due to insufficient onboard bicycle capacity. There are two opportunities to address this issue: a near-term purchase of 11 Bombardier cars and the long-term plan of Caltrain modernization. This is your opportunity to speak up and let the Board know directly the urgent need to increase onboard bicycle capacity. Read the agenda here.
