Learn to Ride and Family Biking Class in Chinatown

Saturday, April 22, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Free

Safe Routes to School  and  SF Recreation and Parks present  YBike Learn-to-Ride and SF Bicycle Coalition Freedom From Training Wheels.  We introduce biking a fun, safe and structured way. Children practice bike handling and balance skills at their own pace. Our instructors help new riders and their parents work together based on each child’s ability. Children who have some biking ability will improve their skills by practicing turns, stops, and hand signals.

We provide bikes of all sizes and equipment to use for the class. Just bring a good attitude and a little determination. (You may bring your own bike). Free helmets for children while supplies last.

Parents: you may Test Ride a Family Bike: our family biking experts will demystify biking gear for you and you may try out one of our long-tail family bikes with seats for children.

Presented with support from MTC-Spare the Air Youth. More details at sfsaferoutes.org/calendar

1:30 pm: Neighborhood bike ride: We’ll take a short loop together led by SF Bicycle Coalition instructors. Open to children with basic riding ability.  Adults must bring their own bicycle.
