There’s a 40-year history of traffic calming and “neighborhood protecting” in the Richmond District, with some dramatic bumps along the way (e.g. Prop R in November 1976). It’s a fascinating and instructive struggle that continues to affect biking and walking on streets all across the city. Come out on this survey ride to hear stories of how neighbors and public agencies worked together to reshape the streets, and learn how neighbors like you can help make real changes for better neighborhoods.
