Women’s Workshop #6: Nutrition for Cycling*

Wednesday, July 19, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

We’ve all heard – and some live by – some version of “Bike to eat, eat to bike,” but how? In this workshop, we’ll be joined by SF Cycling Club members Kortney Parman and Caetie Ofiesh to learn how we should nourish our bodies on and off the bike.

Kortney Parman is a registered dietician, is a nurse practitioner at both UCSF Medical Center and SFDPH Rape Treatment Center, and is a road racer with JLVelo Cycling Team p/b The Freewheel. Kortney will be speaking to the more scientific aspect of cycling nutrition in order to help us figure out when, how much, how often, and what we should eat in order to feel and perform our best.

Caetie Ofiesh has been a food crew leader and support rider for Climate Ride; sous chef for Forage SF + Forage Kitchen, and food program manager and chef at Juicero; and always makes shredding on the bike look fun and effortless. As a vegan chef, Caetie will share some tips on how we can adapt our nutritional needs for different diets, how to create delicious homemade portables and how to stay rubberside down while eating + shredding at the same time.

Bring your questions and and your friends! Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
