Practice what you learned in the Traffic Skills 101-1. This on-bicycle class follows a comfortable progression onto city streets, beginning with a short review of the lessons from the 101-1 course. After a basic bike maintenance session, the class will practice bike maneuvering skills in a car-free practice area before riding on the streets in small, intimate groups led by instructors. A talk about planning and riding 4,257 miles alone across the country in 55 days and a demonstration of the loaded 85-pound bicycle needed to do it safely. As part of our family biking education, Freedom from Training Wheels is a group effort to get kids riding without training wheels. Bring your child’s bike and helmet if you have them.
