Survey Says: Double Parking a Major Concern on the Embarcadero

Did you know that biking on the Embarcadero has grown over 400% since 2006? Or that 62% of the people on the Embarcadero bike, walk or take transit? This is just some of the key data from the Embarcadero Enhancement Project, which kicked off with an open house a couple weeks ago.

Many of our members, local residents and diverse stakeholders were in attendance to learn more about how we can work together and come up with what a protected bikeway from AT&T Park to Fisherman’s Wharf will look like. If you were unable to make the meeting, the SF Municipal Transportation Agency has put up the information from the open house online, as well as a short survey to get your feedback.

There will continue to be many ways to get involved, including a series of workshops to be held this Fall to begin talking about the details around design. In addition, we have gotten over 300 responses to our survey, which takes a deeper look at how you get around the Embarcadero. We will keep the survey open until the end of August, so please fill it out and share it with your bike buddies, fellow commuters, your friends and anyone you know who loves and cares about our waterfront.

We will share final results of the poll, but here’s what people are saying so far: Embarcadero infographic - Parking   Embarcadero infographic - Visiting Our advocacy work depends heavily on the strength of our membership.
