Safe SoMa Now!
This year alone, four people have been hit and killed while biking in and around SoMa. In each of the cases, the victim was hit by the operator of a large vehicle. The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is calling on the City to take action and prevent any more deaths on SoMa streets.
Add your voice to the calls for a Safe SoMa by sending this letter to the Mayor.

(One paragraph about yourself—who you are, where you ride, why you want to see safer streets in and around SoMa.)
I support the SF Bicycle Coalition’s calls for a Safe SoMa now! This year alone, four people have been hit and killed while biking in or around SoMa. I call on you to make immediate changes to prevent the deaths of any more people. Please commit to taming these streets and increasing protection for people biking and walking; fix the known dangerous intersections and safety gaps; and require bike and pedestrian safety training for all frequent drivers with City contracts.
These deaths and injuries are preventable, and I’m asking you, as our City leader, to take the steps necessary to keep us safe. The safety of San Francisco’s residents depends on you. Please act now and help ensure that no other lives are lost.
