Bike & Roll to School Week is a month away! From April 20-24, thousands of kids at more than sixty schools will be biking, scootering and otherwise rolling to school together, and we’re giving away all kinds of prizes to everyone who participates. Here’s a rundown of the prizes:
FOR THE KIDS: Everyone who rolls to a registered school gets a Bike & Roll to School Week Rider Bag with a healthy snack, SF Bicycle Coalition stickers, Sports Basement discount coupons and other fun stuff, sponsored by SF Safe Routes to School. All who participate by walking or taking transit will get stickers, tattoos or zipper pulls while supplies last.
MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL BIKERS: Timbuk-2 has donated rider bags to be raffled off to encourage more teens to bike to school: make sure your school is registered and remember to sign in on your school’s Bike & Roll to School Day.
FOR PARENTS: Win an Electric Family Bike! What new landscapes and routes will open up on a bike designed to carry children and cargo, powered by an electric assist? Xtracycle and The New Wheel Electric Bikes donated the grand prize. Vie Bikes is offering 2nd and 3rd Prize: test ride a family bike for a month or a week for free. Enter the FREE Parent Raffle today!
FOR SCHOOL ORGANIZERS The parent or school staff person who registers their school automatically gets a chance to win a $500 gift card donated by Sports Basement. The Organizer signs up their school, coordinates with parents and staff to have a great Bike & Roll to School Day event, and report back on participation.
FOR THE PRESCHOOLS: Roll with your child on a bike child seat, your family bike, their own bike, trike, jogging stroller or little red wagon! Registered preschools will get prizes for the students, and enter a raffle to win a pair of Kinderfeets balance bikes for your school.
