Where's the perfect place to get the best deal on a new bike this year? Hot! Hot! Hot! All the Goodies To Be Auctioned at Winterfest
New this year at Winterfest!
This year promises to be one for the history books as we come together to celebrate reaching an amazing 10,000 SFBC members!
We look forward to raising a glass with you at Winterfest. Call NOW to Stop The Governor's Brutal Cuts to Public Transportation! It's bad enough that Governor Schwarzenegger is proposing to take another $230 million from public transportation to shore up the state budget. But what's really shocking is that he wants to eliminate the only source of state funding for public transportation operations, the State Transit Assistance program! Call California's legislative leaders RIGHT NOW and tell them to reject the Governor's proposals in the special budget session being held today. As Californians made clear on Election Day, we want and need world-class public transportation in our state to fight climate change and congestion, and state funding for public transportation is part of that solution. Please call the following legislative leaders and tell them to reject the Governor's proposals to redirect state transit funds and to eliminate the State Transit Assistance program: Don Perata Senate President pro Tempore: 916-651-4009 Also let these leaders know that you support reinstatement of
the Vehicle License Fee (VLF) that used
to pay for roadway maintenance and Muni operations but was tossed out by the Governor on his first day in office as a shortsighted political stunt.
The VLF proposal currently on the table would pay into the state's General Fund, rather than being directed to transportation matters, but
it's still an important revenue source that would help protect transportation funds from ongoing budget raids. Thanks for speaking up for sustainable transit!
Last Week to Vote For Biking. Pass it On!With a simple click on Bike Transportation in Yahoo! Green's online poll you could help the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition win funding for our work making SF streets safer and more dignified for biking. Based on your votes, Yahoo! is donating the profits from ads on Yahoo! Green to projects that benefit the Earth and its inhabitants. As of last week, bicycle transportation was up by 40% over other causes! If the bike transportation category wins, the San Francisco Bike Coalition would be the beneficiary of the Yahoo! Green's donation, since they recognize our work as a leader in urban biking transportation. Thanks for voting for Bike Transportation,
and pass it on. Light Up the Night with FREE Blinky Bike Lights!
