Biker Bulletin News
Together We Biked the Vote!
Last Tuesday San Francisco voters approved Proposition B, the 2011 Road Repaving and Street Safety Bond, with 68% of the vote, meaning that tens of millions of dollars are headed toward new bikeways, and hundreds of millions toward repaving bike routes across the city. This is a huge win for better bicycling in San Francisco, and we're proud to have been a central force in the measure's victory at the polls. Thanks to our members for your help in biking the vote for this important initiative. Special thanks to SF Bicycle Coalition volunteers who played a crucial role in campaigning for Prop B's victory, lending grassroots support to the SF Bicycle Coalition's persuasive and prominent endorsement. With the passage of Prop B we'll see safer, smoother streets in the coming years, and an increase in funding for bikeways and other great streets projects.
