Is the city working fast enough to make biking safer for you? Do you share the SF Bicycle Coalition’s vision of connected bikeways that all of your friends and family feel safe biking on? Currently, the SFMTA spends a paltry 0.46% of it’s capital budget on biking - and we need your help to increase this investment in the coming years. The SFMTA has released its draft Bicycle Strategy, a roadmap for growing bicycling in San Francisco in the next 5 years. Click here to read more about the Bicycle Strategy and tell the City that it’s time to invest in bicycling!
Connecting the City in Your Neighborhood
Your support as a member of the SF Bicycle Coalition allows us to advance bicycle improvements in every neighborhood in San Francisco. Here are the hot topics we need your help on this week:
- Love Your Lanes - We are organizing survey bike rides for our members in every District in San Francisco in the next few months to help establish our priorities in the coming years. This Saturday, join us in the Sunset District from 1-4pm to look at what bike improvements are needed. Click here to RSVP for this and other upcoming rides.
- Enlisting Support from your Supervisors - Did you know that we are meeting with every District Supervisor in the coming months to enlist support for bike improvements our members want? Click here to suggest an improvement in your neighborhood.
- Masonic Avenue - Despite clear unsafe conditions on Masonic Avenue and a community-supported plan to improve biking and walking, some people are still trying to stop this project from happening. We need your help to ensure this project gets the funding it needs to get built. Click here for more.
- Mansell Street - Join your neighbors and help redesign Mansell Street in McLaren Park. Click here for information on community meetings starting this week.
