Market and Valencia Turn
Market-Valencia Intersection Improvements
The SFMTA has improved the Market and Valencia intersection to make turns from westbound Market Street to Valencia Street much simpler and safer. A new left-turn waiting area on the north side of Market Street (into the sidewalk) provides a space for you to wait to turn left. A bicycle traffic signal will at the other end of the intersection (near Martuni's) gives you the green light to turn left, along with other left-turning vehicles.
The SF Bicycle Coalition is proud to have built the community support for this project in 2009 and we're excited to see this first-of-its kind intersection treatment here in San Francisco.
The Market and Valencia intersection improvements are part of a plan which will add over 30 miles and of new bike lanes and intersection fixes across San Francisco
