Shopping, Valet, or at the Office
Well-located and convenient sidewalk bicycle racks are an important link for short-term bike parking when riding a bicycle to the store, a restaurant, or a friend's house.
On-street bike parking corrals provide up to 12 places for customers to safely and conveniently lock their bikes right in front of the business. Well-used corrals all over the city are benefiting the local businesses by giving customers a central place to park their bicycle, freeing up sidewalks and encouraging the huge number of people on bikes to stop and shop.

San Francisco Planning Code requires all new buildings -- commercial or residential -- to provide secure bike parking. City-owned and leased buildings are required to provide bike parking for employers. And any covered parking garage open to the public must provide bike parking, as well.

We review proposed developments, provide feedback and sometimes choose to express our support for projects based on the development's bike parking component and impact on the bike network. If you are associated with a development and want to discuss your project, please contact Paolo Cosulich-Schwartz, our Business & Community Program Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
