| another Bike Plan project cleared under the EIR
Description of projectThis is Project 8.1 in the Bike Plan EIR: 19th Avenue mixed-use path, Buckingham Way to Holloway Avenue MTA's Project Description as analyzed in the Bike Plan EIR (Acrobat PDF file) Filling the 19th Avenue gap has been a priority for the SFBC for many years; it was identified as a Top 20 Priority Project during the Bike Plan Update process in 2003. At eight lanes wide and more than five miles long, 19th Avenue is one of the highest volume streets in San Francisco. It is also the primary route to San Francisco State University. To reduce the chance of conflict between bicyclists and pedestrians, this project would add bike lanes to a short stretch of Stonestown/SFSU connection Buckingham Way and widen the walkway between Buckingham Way and SFSU. There's more on our 19th Avenue / SF State access page. This project is an element of SF Bike Route 75. Project Designs and DrawingsMTA's project material (Acrobat PDF files): Thanks to the huge support from SF Bike Coalition, this is one of the 45 new projects that won unanimous approval on June 26th!The city will be installing these bike projects in the coming years to help improve the City-wide Bike Network.
