Women/Trans*/Femme Open Work Hours at the Bike Kitchen

Monday, May 14, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every 2 weeks that begins at 6:30 pm on Monday, repeating until Saturday, December 1, 2018

The Bike Kitchen is a volunteer run non-profit that teaches folks how to fix their bikes. We have a full workshop of bike tools, stands and used parts that you can use to repair your bike or build up a new one.

The Bike Kitchen is open exclusively to WTF* folks every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 6:30-9pm. Our WTF night provides a safe and supportive atmosphere for Women / Trans* / Femme folks of all skill levels to experiment and explore while learning bike mechanics and maintenance. We have volunteer mechanics that can help you troubleshoot and teach you how to adjust your bike so it’s running smooth.

Free for Bike Kitchen members or $6 / night for non-members

Get Involved:
Join our community! We always need more WTF volunteers. Experienced mechanics are always needed but we can also use folks for our Greeter role, to check people in. It’s also a great way to earn a year membership to the Bike Kitchen! Email tracy@bikekitchen.org to learn more and sign up to volunteer with Bike Kitchen.

* Women Trans* Femme (WTF) hours and classes are open to anyone who identifies as female, transgender, femme, genderqueer, trans-masculine, trans-feminine, or feels that their socialization or treatment as a woman, transperson*, femme has impeded their participation in bicycle mechanics.
