Join the Gals for an enjoyable, easy-going ride to San Francisco's Mission District. Ride will start and end at the Golden Gate Park Music Concourse and follow the bike path through the Panhandle, taking the "Wiggle" to Market Street. The ride will then head to the Mission District via Valencia Street, where timed traffic signals and marked bike lanes resulted in San Francisco's first successful model bikeway for cyclists. Join your San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, the Women's Environmental Network and the Women Transportation Seminar for a ride of the iconic SF waterfront. We will meet at Brannan Street Wharf and end at Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture, with stops along the way to talk about changes happening on the waterfront, including new developments and transportation infrastructure. The California Coast Classic is the Arthritis Foundation's leading source of funding for it's extensive research and advocacy for arthritis, which cause for disability for 1 in 5 adults and over 300,000 children. The goal is to raise $1.2 million this year! The ride itself is a fully-supported bike tour of California’s iconic Highway One, taking place September 24 through October 1. Join the SF Bicycle Coalition's state-level partner, the California Bicycle Coalition, on their fundraising ride: the California Dream Ride.
