Youth & Family

The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is proud to be the leading resource in San Francisco for youth and family biking. Through our partnerships with City and community organizations, we help families and kids get “rolling” and work to make biking safe and accessible for kids of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. Bike & Roll to School Week

San Francisco’s Bike & Roll to School Week takes place every April and is the largest event of its kind in the entire country. Thousands of parents, students and caregivers celebrate by pedaling or otherwise rolling to schools throughout the city. Students of all ages, from pre-school to high school, are welcome to participate. Look for signup information for 2019 Bike & Roll to School Week in February.

Bike & Roll to School Week is sponsored by the SF Safe Routes to School Partnership and organized by the SF Bicycle Coalition.

Youth and Family Workshops

The SF Bicycle Coalition teaches free Family Biking Workshops and classes for all stages of family biking — from biking while pregnant to biking your child to school. We also host Freedom From Training Wheels workshops at every Sunday Streets to teach the littlest ones to bike without training wheels. In addition, you can test ride a family bicycle and talk to our experts about biking with children and equipment options at our ongoing Sunday Streets events.
